Land Acknowledgement​

​

We acknowledge Sunset Inn & Cottages was built upon First Nations ancestral land of the Seminole, Tocobaga, Miccosukee, and Mascogo communities. 

As settlers on their indigenous homeland,  we have a duty to recognize them as the original stewards of Treasure Island and beyond.

 

It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower their voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country.

 

We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the local indigenous peoples by raising awareness and learning how to be a better ally against continued colonization.
